Frequently Asked Questions
What is Research@WUR?
Scholarly output of Wageningen University & Research is made available in Research@WUR. The portal showcases the research output that has been registered in Pure. If you are looking for citation analyses of your publications, please use My Research Dashboard.
What is Pure?
Pure is the source system for WUR scholarly output, including articles, reports, books, datasets, press clippings and more. The (meta)data is entered and stored in Pure by the local Pure administrator of your research unit (usually Management Office Assistants), and made publicly available in Research@WUR.
What can I find in Research@WUR?
You will find all information (scholarly output, projects, press clippings, datasets, prizes) that has been entered into Pure. The names of the researchers and the Research Units are provided by the WUR HR department.
I am a researcher, and my personal page is missing. What can I do?
Please change the settings in your We@WUR page from private to public (use a VPN to enter We@WUR from home).
I want to change my name in Research@WUR (for example because of incorrect spelling or name variants). How can I fix this?
The name you see in your personal researcher page is provided by the WUR HR department. If you have published under different name variants, please send an email to pure.library@wur.nl so the publications can be merged. If your name is incorrect, please contact HR to change it.
How can I replace my photo?
You can do that yourself in We@WUR. It might take a day before the photo is added to Research@WUR.
Why are some of my projects missing?
Project information enters Pure via various sources, such as the NWO project database (NWO funded projects), CORDIS (EU-funded projects) and BAPS (projects funded by the Ministry of LVVN). EU-funded projects are not linked to individual researchers yet, as this information is not available in the CORDIS export. The Library links publications to projects based on Scopus. Other linking is done by the local Pure administrators. Contact your local Pure administrator if you have a question about a missing project.
My publication list is not complete. What can I do?
If your WUR publication list is incomplete, please ask your local Pure administrator to add the publications to Pure.
Where can I find an overview and citation analysis of my publications?
You can find an overview of your publications on My Research Dashboard. Here you will also find a citation analysis, Open Access numbers and research credits based on your scholarly output. Read this article for more information on My Research Dashboard.
I have research output from previous contracts. Can I show them at Research@WUR?
If you have pre-WUR publications, please send an e-mail to pure.library@wur.nl. Your publications will then be added to your Research@WUR profile by downloading them from Scopus. In addition, you can include your ORCID on your profile page to showcase all your publications.
How can I add my ORCID to my personal page?
If you want to show your ORCID on Research@WUR, you have to add it to your personal page at We@WUR under Researcher’s IDs (use a VPN if you work from home). You can use ORCID to showcase all your research output, not only the research output from WUR. More information can be found here.
Which collaborations are shown on the map?
The collaborations are based on co-authorships derived from peer-reviewed articles published in the last five years. The affiliations of the co-authors are shown on the map. Publications older than five years are not included. Visualizations may not be complete.
How is the Fingerprint for a researcher or a group determined?
The expertise, or the key subjects of each individual researcher or research group, is based on the data from the last 7 years both from a researcher’s publications and Scopus. These are analysed by an indexing system called Fingerprinting. It uses text mining to create a term-weighted index of a person's or group's scientific documents.
What is the Scopus Profile?
The Scopus Profile links to your Scopus Author Profile on the Scopus platform. Scopus automatically assigns publications to profiles. You can find more information about this identifier and how to correct it here.
